Day 14: Sacrifice & Hope

Art and Writing by Bryce Barron

This is the first time my family and I have actually dived into the idea of lent, and, over the past few days, I’ve found what it means to me as an eleven year old. Here are my thoughts:
God sent Jesus down because of his love for us. That’s a big deal! It shows that God’s love is truly unconditional. He gave the best he could give.
So, God sent Jesus down because of his love for us. And because of Jesus’ love for us, he died on the cross. Now, think about it this way; Jesus is the most important person to ever walk on this earth, and yet, he died for us! He didn’t just come down and take over. He DIED for us!
And so, God sent Jesus down because of his love for us, and because of Jesus’ love for us, he died on the cross. When he rose three days later, he connected the sad idea of sacrifice and dying to the hope that we may live forever with Christ in heaven. Isn’t that amazing!
The fact that God loves me enough to send his son to die for me makes me feel like my life is valuable and I want to do something big with my valuable life. What will you do with yours?
